Job Description

Job Purpose.

 

To ensure the implementation of the Private Banking value proposition and its financial and non-financial objectives in alignment with the overall Affluent Clients requirements through a team of Private Bankers.

 

Job Specifics.

 

Accountable for overall risk management and adherence to all governance standards for the continued sustainability of Private Banking.

Analyses internal inefficiencies and its impact on clients and staff members who are servicing the client and puts appropriate action plans in place.

Continually provides feedback to ensure that the products and services of the bank meet the needs of the client.

Drives a culture of Financial Planning in the Private Banking business.

Drives operational efficiencies and cost optimisation across the portfolio.

Drives respective income statement elements to achieve desired ROE and CTI for Private Banking.

Drives satisfactory audits and ensures that there are no repeat unsatisfactory findings as gauged by operational losses.

Enables integrated ways of working and collaboration across the value chain to deliver for the client.

Ensures alignment to the People and Culture standards with regards to all employee-related matters.

Ensures profitability of the Private Banking portfolio through the identification of opportunities, actively managing customer migration between segments and sub-segments, etc.

Ensures successful retention of existing customers to strengthen and expand relationships by intimately understanding the customer, servicing the customer’s personal financial needs and focusing on the execution of the customer plan through product and service providers.

Ensures that client requirements (e.g., product, services or value adds) are met in consultation with internal stakeholders (e.g., Product, Distribution, Digital, etc.) and/or through external partnerships and opportunities.

Ensures that risks are mitigated, and that appropriate, proactive recovery and resolution plans are in place to protect Private Banking from any untoward event.

Ensures the delivery of seamless multi-product client experiences to address life events, distributed through client engagement platforms.

Identifies adverse trends and opportunities within the market and puts appropriate action plans in place.

Identifies current and potential employee skill requirements in consultation with the People and Culture function.

Inspires the team to deliver on the Group's shared purpose and instilling a culture which enables the Group to evolve into a client led platform organization.

Introduces specialist skills on specific products and product mix at the appropriate time and level in order to create solutions to meet client needs.

Leads the consistent implementation and adoption of the Private Banking value propositions and provides feedback to various domains and capabilities.

Maintains alignment with other segments in order to ensure client value proposition enablement and reduce duplication.

Monitors and ensures the achievement of agreed financial and non-financial outcomes and where relevant ensures that remedial actions are implemented.

Operates within the defined client risk appetite / framework (e.g., operational risk, credit risk, ecosystems risk and partner risk management) and provides input where relevant.

Provides input into digital strategies relevant to the segment in partnership with Digital and eCommerce.

Provides input into Product and ecosystems for the delivery of integrated multi-products and services for the client.

Provides input into talent strategy developed by People and Culture.

Responsible for overall Client growth and acquisition strategies to grow Market Share.

Responsible for the overall income statement and balance sheet growth for Private Banking.

Retains a key focus on client relationships, client experiences, operational efficiency and profitability. Where required manages own portfolio of strategic customers.

Sets the example and lead the team in line with the Groups leadership identity, core values and People Promise

Stays abreast of market and competitive developments in order to provide input into innovative and value-added services to gain market share.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Type of Qualification: First Degree

Field of Study: Business Commerce

Experience Required

Affluent Clients

 

Personal and Private Banking

3-4 years Experience in developing, designing and enabling segment value propositions. Strong understanding of digital, open banking and platform integrations.

5-7 years Experience in all facets of consumer banking, including heading up a segment. Knowledge and experience of Affluent consumers, their needs and their markets gained from an extended period of industry experience and a proven track record in organisations of comparable size and complexity. Experience in managing an income statement and balance sheet.
